“This is for you, daddy,” said a bashful Fidget, passing me her picture. “What do you think?”
My eyes were greeted with a green rolling landscape stretching into the distance where it met a blue tissue paper sky and a drift of fluffy cotton wool clouds.
Lolly-pop stick trees dominate the picture, their bushy green tissue paper foliage rustling as I move the paper. Little buttons and fluffy pom-poms lend splashes of colour as bright as her blush.
And she made it for me. Just. For. Me.
“Do you like your picture, daddy?”
“I love it.” More than you know.
